Default Fuel System Cleaner and Seafoam in my '85?

Yesterday I replaced my spark plugs and wires and after that I made a run to WalMart and happened to spot some GumOut fuel system cleaner and Seafoam. I went ahead and bought it, but should I use it? Is it just a gimmick? Does it do more harm than good? I was looking online and I'm seeing all positives for the fuel system cleaner and a 50/50 split on the Seafoam. If you think I should use them what's the procedure for using both? My car 90k miles on it. Thanks for your feedback.

I used techron a few times in my daily. Mainly to bandaid a failing fuel sender which did work for a while. I wouldn't bother with the seafoam. If everything is fine it'll continue to be fine. If you have carbon build up that is bad seafoam won't help. OMC used to make a decarb or decoke spray for the outboards. They used to get a ton of build up and just run bad. This going back into the 80s though when the 2 cycle oil did this. Short of that I wouldn't bother. The seafoam smoke show is literally the oil burning. Get the same show when I fog my boat for the winter with marvel. (Or actual fogging oil if I feel like paying for it.) Just my two cents.

What problem or symptom are you attempting to rectify, here? None? Then I don't think that you should have bought it.

Since you did, why not use it? The procedure is written on the container. I'd bet that it involves pouring it into one of your car's orifices.

That actually made me laugh out loud. Well done.

I LOVE Seafoam. I'm pretty sure it does nothing for my engine, but if you put it directly in the TB, let is soak up in your warm engine, it makes HUGE smoke out the rear end.

I don't like my neighbor so the smoke really (really) pisses him off. I do Seafoam every time there is a gentle breeze from the east.

I swear by the stuff.
