Default 1996 Radio Whine

My 1996, LT1, AUTO, CE, Bose radio just started to whine. Any ideas why?

Thanks

Check the voltage at your alternator output terminal with a multimeter. You may have lost a diode in your alternator, which will give you low voltage. Your dashboard voltmeter may not show the problem.

It could also be a bad ground. If you had a single amp, I would say start there. The bose has an a amp at each speaker ( which you probably know). The older bose systems are a little temperamental.

"whining" can sound different to different people so you may need to elaborate.

Ask me about whining; I've been married for 31 years.
