For 5k though...get one and see for yourself. If you don't like it, sell the thing.

Yeah. Dont apologize hahahaha. You are right. I think my wife would look freat in one but when i daily drive a c4 its hhaarrdd to get into something a bit more feline looking. The Stealth is looking like the best option so far in a car format. id love the porsche but as to i has said they are crazy expensive and to buy one and then hammer it with gravel and salt would be dumb. i need a solution for the rear wing on the stealth. something not too ricy but less sunfire looki g than what came from factory. ive never owned a dodge and it would be fun.

I kick myself every now and then for the fact how cheap I sold my 911 factory turbolook ex race car years ago. It could have been a real investment in retrospect. Well sometimes you lose and sometimes you win.

Early Cayennes are dirt cheap here, they are pretty much selling for the same sum as mediocre C4's are. Of course maintenance cost can be lot higher, not because its AWD but because its a Porsche.

I myself are considering A8/S8, S4 and Cayenne (turbo) for my next winter user. Not new ones but maybe 2000-2010 models as I prefer to let somebody else take the hit on early depreciation (which can be at my location $1000/month on first few years). I have several cars and mostly work on them myself so I am not afraid about expensive repairs. I can always drive something else while I hunt for the parts and make the repairs. If you need to get your luxury car repaired by tomorrow to get to work then it can be super expensive and maybe something cheaper is smarter choise.
I find SIMILAR feeling for the early cayenne's as towards the TT. I do like them but feel they a bit feline/feminine. BUT with a different set of headlights and a better set of rims, similar to the TT, they can look like more of a guys car. The Sport version of the Cauenne is a rocket and so whatever i personally happen to feel about thier looks, performance couldnt be better. you get a full on race car in an SUV format wich for climates like yours and mine, would be awesome!

Couple more/better pics of the thing in action. Here it was w/my C6 in the pits at the drag track. For the forum veterans, the white C4 beyond my C6 is the '84 belonging to "CFI-EFI" aka, Jim Poyser. RIP, my friend...

get a 4wd vehicle or a Fwd vehicle if you want traction in the snow.

This is my other vehicle and you can hillclimb in the summer.

It is a riot to drive, the AWD wheel is auto or manual, but you will need the 500 dollar tester from the country near Turkey!

How is the handling on the AWD Stealth/3000GT. I had a base FWD model Stealth before. The car was fun and comfortable to drive, got decent gas mileage (around 25 mpg), but had a push in the corners like nothing I've ever driven before.

For example, there is this pretty sharp banked corner here where I live. In a 280Z , I was able to take this turn at 65 mph and stay in the inside lane. In the Stealth (equal road and weather conditions), at 55 mph, the car pushed completely across the road so that my tires to the outside of the turn were on the edge of the road. 57 mph and I would have pushed though the corner, off the road.

help me find something to buy. Here are the rules:

A). it has to be classic and at least a little bit older. It's just who I am, I like buying classic cars that you don't see every day. I'm a child of the 90s having graduated in 1994 so if you can find something from that era even better.

B) it has to be all wheel drive. Here in lies the reason why I'm even bothering to post this. There aren't very many to choose from. Especially ones that look half decent. Maybe I'm missing one and I'm hoping my C4 brothers can help.

C) it would be nice if it was relatively easy for me to wrench on. I enjoy it and it gives me therapy. Not like I'm nuts and need therapy but I mean like for the same reason my wife goes for yoga I like to wrench my car therapy.

D) there is no D. i need a car that i can tinker and improve thats awd and looks good with a nice set of rims and some blizzaks on it.

I considered an awd porsche both the 911 style and the cayanne suv. im told the cayanne drives like a race car.

Anyway, im posting this here because you guys know the itch that I need to scratch. I'm dying to go for a drive in my vette but I can't. I need something else that I can drive. Help a brother out and brainstorm with me.
Skip the "classic" bit-you don't want the headaches; my c6 sleeps for 4 months, and my daily driver is 2016 Taurus SHO; rocket (365 hp stock);
Cheap and easy to get to spectacular power and low 4 sec. 0-60.

My sister has a 2011 3 series X-Drive in NJ and it has never had a problem. Go with the 335 and add a JB4 tune to it and have high 3sec 0-60 for around $500.

Yep, I hear you. I'd bet tires had a lot to do with that, but most FWD cars are going to push worse than RWD. In fact, most CARS are engineered to push for safety reasons. FWD cars are worse though, b/c the front tires are trying to do too many things at one time, and there is a heavy front engine, hanging out over the front wheels.

The AWD Stealth handled good. Over all, it was neutral; some corners or with sloppy driving it would push some. Not bad and a momentary chop of the throttle would fix it. In some corners the tail would come out slightly. Very easy to control. Easier than the C4. It "felt" more invincible on the track than the C4 feels...but I'd bet the lap times were slower. IDK...never timed them.

In the snow, is was all tail during big throttle slides. Still, super easy to control; just point the front end where you want to go and hold the throttle down.

Does the Mitsubishi 3000GT also come in AWD or is that the one with active steering... or both? That active steering is pretty cool actually.

Both the Turbo versions of the car (the Stealth RT/Twin Turbo and the 3000 GT VR4), come only with...everything;
DOHC 4 valve, TT, Twin intercooler, 300 hp/307tq engine w/a 7000 RPM readline.
All wheel drive
All wheel steering
Active exhaust (think C6 NPP)
ABS
Active Aero (VR4 only)
Manual trans only (5 speed early, 6 speed later)
Electronically Controlled Suspension (similar to 'Vette FX3 in function)
4 wheel disk brakes, (4 piston calipers in front, single floaters, rear)
Radio controls on the steering wheel
Climate Control with a color pictogram LCD
AM.FM Cassette deck with CD player, EQ AND...and "AUX" input...in 1991!
...and more. It was LOADED with technology for the time. It was what I call, the Nissan GTR of the early '90's

As the car aged some of the goodies went away. ECS, AWS, and the active exhaust. If I remember a lot of it started with the body refresh.

^That is true. I prefer the early cars the most. I like the looks, the neat feature (for the time), etc.

The price of these cars in my area is pretty steep.

Really? We paid $4.5k for our one owner 80k mile one...but that was over 10 years ago. Maybe they've gone up in value? It's probably getting hard to find a clean stock one. IDK...

I live in the wrong area. As a rough estimate based on condition and mileage a 3000 GT VR4 goes for about twice what a decent C4 goes for.

https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...elCode1=3000GT

OK, the FWD models are more affordable here.

Yeah, I have a made a rule for myself that "It's worth traveling for a purchase"....like a car or boat. I bought our Mastercraft PS190 in Indiana. Drove from UT to Indiana, bought it and towed it back to UT. Was it worth the drive? The trip took three days. I've owned the boat for 18 years now.

I bought our CTS-V in Seattle WA. Flew in w/a round trip ticket (just in case it wasn't "it"), bought it and drove it home. Was it worth it? Trip took two days. We've had the car for 9 years and 130k miles so far.

It's worth traveling to get the car you want, IMO.
