Default Suggestions for avoiding air pockets in coolant

Is there any specific way I can fill up the radiator/engine to avoid getting air pockets in the block? Can I take of the T-stat housing and fill it up from there?

You could try that but the best way is just to burp it several times with the heater On after the t-stat has opened, i.e. raise idle to around 2,000=2,500rpm, carefully remove the radiator cap, fill as necessary with more coolant, replace the cap and cycle rpms a few times.

Repeat the burping till no drop in coolant is seen upon removing the radiator cap at high idle rpms.

 You can also back of on the hose clamp at thermo housing and whenh you get a solid stream of coolant tighten it up

Also, much easier, drill a 1/32 inch hole it the thermo flange, close to the center

This will allow some water to circulate all the time amd get rid of the air
