Default 1996 intake question 96

Why did gm install the 12552138 on 96 vettes.

I have two 96 parts cars one recently removed intake 12552138 and a 40k mile collectors edition with same intake?? Please don't come at me saying it's not on corvette application . I know for a fact they do come on 1996 . Just wanting answers why? If anyone knows please enlighten all of us...

Build dates 3/96 and 10/95

i know this is crazy how gm can get away with putting this casting on a so called collectors edition.??

From research it's from an l99 . But said the runners are similar to the lt4 design (tappered)

i do know 630 ending is a 1994-1995 and possibly some 96.

Obviously 631 is an lt4

You are of course aware that in 96 the Z15 (RPO) collector edition is just silver paint, 5 spoke wheels and some seat embroidery? NOTHING about the engine or trans is different from any other 96 corvette.

If you ordered it with an auto trans you got the same LT1 engine as every other 96 auto, If you ordered the 6sp you got the same LT4 engine that every other manual trans 96 corvette received.

MR Peabody you didn't read or understand what i am asking. the 138 casting is for the L99 4.3 and is on two 96 i have on my property. should be a 630 casting.

I do realize it sebring silver and i have a CE right now with 40 k on it i also own a 96 GS convertible with lt4 obviously. the reason i am asking is because i have sold parts for 10 years and this is very strange. only reason i can believe is gm pulled any intake off shelf for the end of the C4 run. the intake i posted (138) is not the correct one for CORVETTE LT1 engines. i wanted to see if any one had a 630 or a 138 on their 96 . no biggie more curiosity than anything! But damn near fraud by GM if this is the case. the casting should read 630 not 138.

10108630 IS AN LT1

12550631 IS AN LT4 MAYBE A 12550630 IS A REPLACEMENT AFTER PRODUCTION , NEVER SEEN ONE IN PERSON BUT I WAS REFFERRING TO THE LT1 10108630 CASTING NO LT4 MENTION IN ORIGIANL POST

NOT YELLING LEFT CAPS ON NOT RETYPING.
