Default Non_Stock accessory belt option?

I would like to use a different power steering pump bracket but it seems hard to find because our reservoir is separate from the pump. My reservoir is actually mounted on the fan shroud do to my cam making the P.S. fluid shake out of it. With the smog pump removed and the reservoir bracket gone my power steering pump bracket cracked so are there any after market brackets or other ways to run the accessories.

There are other places to mount your reservoir. On my 1988 Coupe it is on the frame rail between the radiator and the engine. The stock location on my 1988 is really pretty good as the reservoir is in the air flow area keeping your PS fluid cooler.

I have a 1968 C3 427, 4 speed with power steering. On that car I switched to a serpentine belt setup and mounted a reservoir on the left frame rail just forward of the master cylinder.

You might speak with some experts like the guys at:

www.turnone-steering.com

These folks can help you with relocating and choosing a reservoir that doesn't leak over. They do a lot of custom work for several big name race teams where all they do is turn left.

Good Luck with you PS system. I am getting ready to install a cooler with fan inside the left gill of my 1968. The cooler the fluid stays the longer your parts last!

Thanks . My main problem is the power steering pump bracket. I was just going to get a used one to replace the one that broke but I thought I would ask here to see if anyone had the same problem or just found a better way to bracket the power steering pump.
Im pleased with the setup I have for my reservoir.

I was just looking on e bay and it seems 1984 had a PS bracket 14055113 and latter models had 14087559. the latter on looks to be made thicker and more heavy duty. My question is will they both put the pump in the spot so the belt line up? I really dont want to buy the same bracket and have it crack again

They look exactly the same to me, with the 85 and up having ribs cast into the bracket to add strength. I would grab the later version and compare it side by side and if it is not the same, just list it back up. But I think you will find it will bolt on.

I'm quite sure the 14087559 became the 'service bracket' for '84 - '90

I don't know that the braces could be used also on the '84 or not. Where's your alternator mount and which alternator? An SI, a CS or ..........

The 84 bracket was unique to that year. The reservoir was contained in a triangular configuration of the bracket. The later years had the reservoir mounted separately away from the bracket. I switched from the 84 configuration to the later year bracket when I went with the SuperRam. Hope my memory serves me correctly.

The bracket that holds the reservoir is completely separate from the bracket that holds the pump/alternator. The reservoir bracket uses existing bolt holes on the pump bracket, do an 85+ should do the trick.
