Default Green 42-Tooth Speed Sensor Gear: I Need One

I have a complete Dana 36 rear differential with 3.07 gears I am swapping into my Collector Edition in place of the 2.59 rear the car came with. While the correct speed sensor (p/n 10456092) is no longer available, I found an aftermarket unit that, with a wiring adapter, is advertised to work. Alternately, some forum users have suggested rotating the existing sensor (p/n 10456091) 180 degrees to allow for the different offset (relative to the drive gear) needed for speed sensor gears with more than 40 teeth. Of course, what I need, and am having trouble finding, is the green 42-tooth gear (p/n 25513049).

In the past, there were vendors and individuals who had a green gear to sell. Does anyone have a green 42-tooth gear they can part with?

Try Greg @ Blower Works

I've got some 43 and 45 left I believe. Haven't looked for a while. I might actually have a 42 but I'd suggest Greg 1st!!

OP - you've a serious issue if your car is a '96 CE. I overlooked that.

If your car is in fact a '96 CE you've a 4L60e and it doesn't use drive/driven VSS. It uses a toothed reluctor wheel and a pickup. Calibration is done in the PCM.

I was originally responding to just your 'request'!!

What is the car really?

*****! The car is a 1996 Collector Edition. So, basically, I researched myself into a blind alley, and I do not need a green 42-tooth gear.

If I hear back from Greg, I'll still post in case someone who does need a green gear might find the info useful.

I have a 42 green but it is for a six speed manual. I got a nos one last fall as I thought it may have been bad. It was ok but I put the new one in, so have my original. If yours is an automatic that gear is available from I think if I recall it is available from ATI and you can by from them direct or from Jegs. I would have to check on the part number.

Opps!
It was Summit not jegs.
It is made by TCI. Part number 880030 42 tooth for automatic transmission green.
Hopefully that helps you out.

I did hear back from Greg at BlowerWorks, and he said that he is, "pretty sure" he has the 42-tooth green gears available. So, anyone looking for a green gear should drop him an e-mail (greg at blowerworks dot net).

Yes, it does look like Summit Racing has a TCI green 42-tooth gear that will fit the pre-1994 automatic cars. That was a nice find!
