Default No headlights/headlight motors when switch is turned- questions

Hi all. I have a fsm and it has charts for if the headlights don't turn on OR if the headlight motors don't work. If both don't work, are there any easy places to check/diagnose? I didn't see any comments in the fsm about having both of them dead and not working. Car is the 92 in my sig.

thanks!

No motors OR no lights and motors?

8A-102 has diagnostics for the module which I'd think if you had 'no motors' and it refers you back to 8A-100 if 'no lights and motors'. I'd think pretty straight forward. Lights all the way around the car should work with with key 'in pocket'! Do they?

the parking/tail lights all work when turned to that position or all on. Nothing happens with the headlights or motors though. I'll review that chart. Thanks!

took a look at it and I think I'm on the right track. Upon further inspection, it looks like the top red wire going into the headlight module got frayed on a braided oil line that runs right next to it. I I don't know much about fusible links but if it does indeed have some type of fuse, I need to probably replace it.

I was also checking out chart 8a-114-3 and it shows a diagram that shows that it not only feeds the headlight module, but also the underhood engine bay lamps. Those aren't working right now either. I don't recall if they ever worked, but they definitely aren't working now.

The manual says that fusible links f and g are located at the "jump start junction block". Is that the power distribution block right behind the battery?

Are replacements available at any auto parts store? Is there a particular size or anything?

Do you know for a fact that one of the 'links' have failed? do you just have frayed wire under the hood closer to the module? Fusible link or link actually 'bulk' link can be purchased locally. Generally links of the correct length are serviced with a ring terminal on one end. Frayed with only a few strands wont work but if you can remove the frayed section and replace with an appropriate splice it's generally considered a fix.

I’m going to check it with the cable tester (also to identify which one at the block). I’ll then check continuity.

Red wire frayed on the braided line

Hard to tell from the snapshot but is the connector the 4 pin or 5 pin? I'd think 5 pin.
