Default runs rough smell gas in oil

1989 C4 checked Oil and it Smells like Gas I replaced Injectors all 8 mass air flow sensor spark plugs wires. distributor cap now i am at a loss can any one help me the car has only 52.887 miles HELP somebody????

Have you taken a look at the fuel pressure regulator ? because if your fuel pressure regulator goes bad it may be able suck gas into your crank thru the Vac. hose.

This one was only 4 years old when it suddenly went bad.



You can check for a leaking diaphragm by pulling the vacuum hose after you just turn it off and if any fuel at all comes out ... it's bad. To change it you either pull the plenum to get to it or you can do it the hard way using a torx-10 security bit and a 1/4 in wrench. Looks impossible but it's doable.

I'd dump the oil before going anywhere. After which I'd do a fuel pressure check to see if the system holds pressure before tearing things down. After which, check compression.

Default starting over

Sorry I' just now getting back with you but i replaced the injectors and it did run good now I replaced the fuel pressure regulator the fuel pump and the in line fuel filter and now it runs rough and dies out again kan you give some advise

Well I really am not sure but I replaced it and the Fuel pump and so far so good

82 to 84 regulator is clearly different than other years

I would suggests starting with the Fuel Pressure regulator
you can also look up how to measure the furl pressure on youtube
