1992 corvette door ajar alarm. How do you get to it to replace it.It ios supposed to be located right of center in the dash.I have had the radio out and both sides of the dash and the glove box apart but have no been able to even see the center part.

I'm quite sure you actually meant the 'tone generator' for key in ignition, headlamps on etc so ...............

Is there a procedure for removing and replacing the unit?

I looked in my FSM and I didn't find one, probably because it would be essentially the same as the process for all the components located near it. The process is: remove console trim panel, accy trim plate, upper trim panel (aka Dash pad), remove offending component.

As the picture WVZR-1 posted shows, it's not on the right side, it's on the drivers side behind the DIC. You won't see it until the dash pad is off because it's behind the dash inner panel

SO, how bad to you want to remove it?
