Default High pressure fuel line removal hints needed

I need to remove fuel sender/pump from my 92 LT1. High pressure hose is loose (I can turn it) but can’t pull it off? What is the trick here?

I get a small flat head screwdriver and lightly pry under the edge of the hose to help it release from the inlet.

What are you going to leverage against to use these tools? As Spencer suggested get a small screwdriver or two and slide it between the hose and the tube. Stretch it out and pull it off.

Heat will help soften the rubber. I'd use a heat gun or even a hair dryer. No open flames of course.

Looking at the pic my first thought would be to grab a long square shank screwdriver like a Craftsman and lever it from the bolt head just to the upper left of the hose to the end of the hose to push it off the nipple . And if necessary , use some long needle nose pliers on the hose itself about where the yellow stripe is to the bolt head under it to help pull it off .

My 1996 fuel line had never been removed a couple of years ago when I had to replace my fuel pump. I remember it being hard to remove but not SO hard that it required 10 posts on this forum. Once I got it to spin I remember it was 2-3 minutes more until it was off. I put a small thin screwdriver in the hose and levered off at the same time I pulled on the hose with a needlenose plier braced on the filler tube. Dan EDIT: I remember I wrapped electrical tape around the hose where I grabbed it with the needlenose to not hurt the rubber tube.

Default the answer

I have changed many fuel pumps including a fair share of C4s but this hose seemed to be inhabited by a evil spirit. I could rotate it and get a good grip with long pliers/hand but it would not budge. Until I bought and used the pliers below none of my tricks moved it a bit.

No leverage needed. I held in left hand (driver side), gripped hose right at tip of metal bulge, used right hand to stabilize and pushed. Off it came.
