Meziere 30 or 43 GPM ?
doing a PM on my existing pump prior to long trip out west in May. don't know what GPM is on LT4 now so planed to purcase the 43. Then I got to thinking(it happens) that the longer the coolant stays in the radiator the more heat should be exchanged, thus cooler temps. that plus the 30 GPM is $ 65.00 less money but looks to be identical in all other respects. which one would you go with ?

30 is probably more than enough...

If , a BIG if , the 43 is pumping ( 8 ) 5 gallon cans of fluid in 60 seconds I don't see how any heat exchange could have a chance to happen at that rate of flow.

The thermostat will still restrict the flow some too. Turbulence helps promote mixing for better heat transfer. It's a balance of turbulence and fluid flow. You'll hit a peak and it'll drop off. You need to find that peak for the system ideally... or figure out what the stock flow rate is and work from there.

Max flow always best - max heat transfer takes place with more flow to point of wanting turbulent flow. greg

The myth of the "too fast of a flow rate" for heat exchange is one of my pet peeves. It simply doesn't exist. Other problems can arise from too much flow that can cause issues (like cavitation) but not having enough time for heat exchange in a closed loop system isn't one of them.

I called and spoke to Jerry @ Meziere , he told me the 30 will work for a street driven car , BUT more flow is always better. they will recondition my pump for $125.00. . since I don't know what pump is in the car, will just go ahead with plan A and purchase the 43. after all mo flo is mo betta. thanks all.

Not sure what brand, but I saw an ELWP at the drag track last weekend that had a pulley ON THE MOTOR, for the sole purpose of allowing one to maintain their stock belt routing. I though it was pretty trick.

That would be the way to go IMO. Running from the ac compressor all the way to the Alt or however the hell you'd do it seems like a long stretch
