Dude you ran against some BAD drivers. Hellcat running 14's? What?

Nice driving. As we have discussed and proven, these cars are are low 13 sec performers on street tires with a well maintained car that is well driven. Anyone who says otherwise is full of it. C4's still run....Hard.

Keystone Raceway Park which I have not been too in a few years but have about 45+ passes on my LT1 6 speed. A TON of 13.4's and 13.5's. 13.38@105 is by personal best. 1.9X to 2.0X 60' times are typical. My average trap is around 103-105. That is at about 1500ft and the air is never very good.

Just curious: Anyone notice anything weird about the Mustang's time slip from my first pass? Car number 396?
You killed him on the light and ripped him out of the hole. That has to suck driving a brand new Mustang against a 25 year old Corvette and getting the smack laid down on you the first 330 feet or so.

Interesting. He is at 97mph in the 1/8 (very strong in my estimation; I think I am at like 88mph in the 1/8 with my car; see mods below), has a 2.2 60 foot and only runs 112/113mph in the 1/4; only 15/16 mph increase from the 1/8 mile.....strange.....still gets a 12.5 ET......?????

Normally with a 112 mph pass (which is about where I am at) with a 2.2 60' you are looking at a 12.9 to 13.1 sec. pass maybe even 13.2 or so........
BINGO! Good spotting. At first, I thought, "12.5/112....that's pretty good."

I ran 12.86/112 in my C6, so if he came out a little harder than I had, that "jibes". But then I looked at his 60, and was like W...T...F!? All I can figure is that he was headed for something in the 1-mid teens and he let off. but why?? This wasn't bracket racing.

Yep, they were pretty bad.

The mustang driver beat me to the 1/8th by .12...by a whopping 16 mph! but then had on the big end by 10 mph?

Yea...........

That was the conclusion I came to.....very interesting time slip!

Your C6 ran a lot like my car...very similar slips..

He must have shut it down because he was KICKING *** in the 1st half of the track.....Something you normally don't see in test and tune....No reason for it....that's bracket racing technique if you are worried about breaking out......

I guess he was there to race ......and take it easy on his car if he clearly was winning???? Strange indeed!

I should have chatted him up in the staging lanes for yuk-yuks. Oh well.

I have the same problem as those on the flicks. I avoid the water box ( now) and just give it a quick spin to clean the tires. Still, I spin my *** off in my 86. This year I am going to buy some wheel and sticky tires. The T%T has finally started here in Indy but first one was rained out. Best time so far has been 14:07 and I WANT to dip into the 13s. Also, hate getting outran by the new stangs and Camaros but hey , me against them is like me racing a 56b chevy, they are 30 years newer than me ,lol. NOT making excuses, am buying parts to go a bit faster, Tires are on the top of the list, Its in the paint shop now. TOM, great runs my friend.

Thanks man!

What are your 60's? I feel that anytime I get more than 2.00, I should be doing better. I know people put it down, but I find that more spin -even on street tires, helps.
