Lighted rear view mirror for 84 Corvette?
Can a rear-view mirror from a late 80's Corvette with the map light (as well as the light that shines down on the center console) easily be installed on an '84 - which has no lights at all?
Obviously my concern is the wiring...

Sure. Tap switched power somewhere. I ran a wire years ago, forgot where but it was under the steering column on my truck so I can't see why you can't do that here. Any particular reason you are trying to do this? Would you be able to use a Gentex mirror with other features?

I installed a JY dual-light mirror from an '89 Pontiac into my '84 years ago. I took power from the wire already in the windshield header that supplies power to the make-up mirror in the passenger side sunvisor for the two switched lights in the mirror, and ran an additional wire to the courtesy light circuit so the lights would come on with the courtesy lights. It's a nice addition!

Thanks guys. The stock mirror will need replacing soon - and I like both lights that later models have - so figured I would try to go that route.
Using the power from one of the vanity mirrors was my thought exactly. Good idea for the courtesy light.
Just put it on my TODO list!
thanks again!

The Gentex would be something I'd consider - but they appear to be no more (no longer available on Amazon). I'll keep looking though as I'm in no rush.
Yes - the LEDs are a must. One good thing the PO did was replace every interior light (even the vanity mirror lights) with LEDs (as well as the engine bay lights).

I got one from Tom here on the forum for my 85. I think he was parting out a 1996? It was 90 something.
Since it was used, I asked him to include a little bit of pigtail with it and that made it much easier.
Fit great. Works great..
