Default Going left engine stalls

My c4 engine kills on me while I'm driving and turning left past center. I can put in neutral and crank her right back up. But it will hesitate and or kill as I move the steering wheel left again. Mostly at slow speeds. Has this happened to anyone? Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Tim.

Wiring or fuel.. Any wires moving or contacting under the hood or under the dash when we do this?

Might check that real quick, then try it with a FP gauge on it.

If this is only with 1/2 tankful or less, it is common. I think there is a rubber tankliner that warps, blocking immersion of the pump pickup.

Could it be that the sump in the tank has come loose and not doing it's job? I agree a full tank is a great test. If it does it when it is full, look for electrical. If not, look for the tank.

If it does it with a full tank would the problem almost have to be in the steering column wiring?

..... I don't see how ... the electrical portion of the ignition switch is on the lower part of the steering column and doesn't rotate ... something else is going on .....

I doubt the steering column but I would definitely take a fuel pressure gauge and see what happens. I would guess that if the fuel pressure holds, the engine died suddenly and no injector pulse. If it struggled before it died, maybe the pump lost power?

Yes, I thought of that but the tank is full so I ruled that one out. Thanks for your input.

Any way you can monitor pump pressure while you turn?

Thank you. I will get under the truck and see what the wiring is doing at the tank. I did have to change the fuel pump about a year ago go perhaps something is loose at the tank. That will be my next move... Thanks again..

Possibly I could rig it up. It doesn't shut down while I'm parked and turning the wheel. Only while in motion.

If there's issues with the bladder collapsing and blocking the pickup, a simple thing you could do is turn left with a FP gauge on it..

First: Verify that a lack of fuel pressure is killing the engine by turning left with a FP gauge on it.

If FP is indeed killing the engine? THEN, put a test light on your pump and try it again..

If the light goes out, it's the wiring.. If the light does not? It's in the tank.

PS: If you do need a tank, this one seems pretty good and the price was reasonable.

(No bladder, though.)
