How to make c4 unbeatable by Tesla ludicrous mode
a recent post on the c7 section about a c7 getting beat by a tesla has me panicked. But that said, a properly modd lighter c4 platform i believe isnt as vulnerable to getting beat by one. I Would way rather take a modd optispark lt1 vs the new lt1 any day.
luckily, where i live in ohio, we dont have many teslas .
however, what steps can i take to keep my supercharged 93 vert from getting beat by one off fhe line?
i am thinking about adding a small nitrous shot and ramping timing a little (since nitrous cools down the boosted heated supercharged air).
obviously the tire dept needs to put down insane grip.
any other ideas?

So I've been in a Tesla and the rate at which they can leave the line is actually insane. Being honest if my 84 could leave that hard I'd feel like something would just outright break... possible the car would actually snap in half (I'm exaggerating here but still... I actually get sick when I've been in it.)
That being said, a crazy stall and a shot of nitrous right when you launch could work... or there could be a bunch of parts under the car. I really wouldn't bother. Maybe you could fab up and make it a dual energy hybrid for super power off the line though.

So you want to dream big! Say you have a new C7 Corvette GS, and you go up against these cars: Who are you going to beat?
10. Alfa Romeo Giulia Q
9. Porsche 718 Cayman S
8. Aston Martin DB11
7. Camaro ZL1 1LE
6. Mercedes AMG GTR
5. Nissan GT-R Nismo
4. McLaren 570GT
3. Porsche 911 Turbo S
2. Ferrari 488 GTB
1. Tesla S P100D
None of them! You'd be #11 in the quarter mile finishing order!

I 'm simply amazed that some still even compare the old C4 to any of the newer technology

Just read where the Tesla S p100 has something like 920 foot pounds of torque delivered almost instantaneously from its electric motors to all four wheels. Several good articles on what goes on when you release all these amps but it happens really fast and the car is so heavy the hookup is amazing. A Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport has 1100 pound feet of torque and all wheel drive, but that doesnt come on until 3000 rpm. Zero to 62mph is 2.4 seconds abot the same as the Tesla.
A C4 is much lighter than either of these but without all wheel drive I dont see this working. Ive seen some pretty cool SRT8 Jeeps with all wheel drive leave the line in a blink but youd have to double torque output on that engine.

this is my complaint that no one makes a lightweight aftermarket AWD conversion kit for C4.
Even awd i still believe like 97 % of power goes thru the rear wheels ? Or am i wrong

A few weeks ago I met a fellow at a local show who is a big Mopar guy. He has both a Hellcat and the Jeep. He told me the jeep just blows away the hellcat because the 4 wheel drive enables the Jeep to get that much more torque to the ground.
Perhaps we may see all wheel drive with the C8?

That's the first thing I thought about, I doubt it will happen with the stock rear, even if you have a D44. I immediately thought about a solid axle, 4-something gears, & slicks. And a nice 4l60 with converter with plenty of stall. That's gonna make the car really jump out there, no matter what you've done to the motor.

I would love to do something to the c4 like what wS done to the c3.
Heres why the c4 is so important to ME:
basically....as a 13 yr old kid i dreamed of the c4 vette. I saw 80s movies with it. I told all my friends with countach and testarossa posters the zr1 would beat those. I played video games with the c4.
It was a great car for the time. The c4 sledgehammer was proof the c4 could be modified into a streetable indy car destruction machine (at least from a top speed point of view).
i no longer have feelings that strong for newer cars even if they are faster, safer, etc.
But my feelings remain strong for the c4 - and we need to make this car shut down whatever threat comes to it.
be it electric car (note electric c4 is cool), awd gt-r’s or literbikes

If that's the case, first you need to swap to an l98 intake for earth shattering torque...
