Need help starting "Standalone Harness" LT1
LONG STORY SHORT: cranks, starter engages etc, plenty of strong spark (tested spark from coil and spark plugs), gets plenty of fuel (verified at return at fuel cell), intake is off- all connections are connected-
LONG STORY LONG: I have an early L98 Vette that I swapped an LT1 into (94 Caprice). Sent PCM to lt1swap.com to delete vats/emissions stuff. Hooked it up to my thinned out harness and the results is cranks but wont start. changed out the opti and coil to get great spark, new plugs, new fuel lines/fittings/fuel.
Whats not hooked up that "may" be an issue: no fans, no O2 sensors (no exhaust, just open manifolds), no VSS, no alternator wiring (havnt gotten around to it and just wanna get this thing running so I can move on to buttoning up the rest of the car). IAC tested good. no vacuum lines hooked up (didnt think that would prevent it from firing over). Engine, harness, pcm is grounded. Running a master kill to a "4 wire" hookup (power, switched 12v, fuel pump, ground).
Not sure what sensor, (or lack of sensor) is or isnt allowing the engine to fire. It turns over very strong- battery is fully charged and on a trickle charger.
Any help will be appreciated- I'll try anything.

It is possible to incorrectly install opti. The pin goes in the hole with a line. If you have spark and fuel it leaves timing. It should atleast "hit" over 400 rpm ecm control engine. Firing order? Are you able to check codes? MAF connected?
