Default emergency and turn signal flasher

Hi Friends,

I have to replace the flasher on my 94. This has been a tough job to complete. It is difficult to even get in there and then you have to find the flasher. I have the service manual, but cannot identify the flasher. Can anybody give some advice or help? Thanks.

On my 84 it is a round metal relay can looking thing. Behind the radio iirc. I'm not sure on the 94 if it is similar. I pulled my dash and center parts (radio and panels above it) and saw mine just sitting there...

If you have the actual Helm FSM HAZARD 8A-201-20 FIG #33 and the DIRECTIONAL 8A-201-24 #41 & 8A-201-25 #42

BOOK 2 8A-201 is after the wiring diagrams. You should have no issues.

It is underneath the driver side hush panel. You need to remove the panel and also the metal crash brace to access it.

I was about to look and see if I could remove the metal. There is no way to even see the flasher. Thank you.

Did all that and can see everything under the dash, but cannot identify the flasher. I have the GM Service Manual and it is not too clear. Is their a number on it to identify it? No tube-like can flasher like the one I got to replace it. Hope I find it soon because I have a lot of parts to reassemble! Thanks to all for the help.

Good job!!

Sometimes 'IN LIVING COLOR' just works. Your snapshot pretty much confirms the FSM 8A-201 is correct.

The photo you provided was exactly what I needed!! The flasher was broken and I could not identify it as the cover was gone and there was a little coil of fine copper wire hanging there. I had not seen the inside of a flasher before. Thank you kindly for the excellent help. Got it all back together and it works.
