Aftermarket Injectors - What's everyone using?
I'm getting around to swapping injectors and getting a tune, i notice with the old injectors they have the retaining clip. Some aftermarket injectors dont have the slot for the clip.
I've been in a car fire before, so i really would like to source injectors that have the clip, if not for the reasons of possible fireball i would like to at least not have them all fall out of alingment each time the rail is pulled.
What are peoples thoughts on below for a 1993 LT1? Anyone else using SVO's and can share some details? Lloyd recommended 30lb based on my build. I don't know but it seems a little small?

Or even 36lb @ 43.5psi

Some other useful data:
Long tube pacemaker headers, mostly stock catback exhaust.
LE2 218/224 Cam, 113LSA ~.57 valve lift intake, .56 exhaust
LE2 Heads.
1.6 RR
SLP Tripple CAI
Stock TB and intake.
Stock cubes etc

With a similar setup to yours, I'm running FIC Bosch III 32# injectors. Been running these injectors without the factory retaining clips for several years without issue.

Hi..
The stock Rochester injectors on an L98 are fine. I had all of mine refurbished for about $80 (new filters and tested) and got a increase in flow of about 5-8%.

All it does is allow it to not fall out of the rail but I'd rather it comes out the top since they are angled going in. It doesn't help the fireball since the rail is held down and pushing them down.

On my 88 I changed to FIC's. They are so much easier to install because there is no clip at the top of the injector. The fuel rail bolts hold the injectors in at the top and bottom of the injector.

I had bosch 3's that did not use the clip but had to use the clip on the bosch 4's from FIC.
Bosch 4 - Multec - Bosch 3
The fours leaked on me.

I think on my Bosch 2 I had clips and I was trying to make it work but decided it wasn't worth the trouble so I tossed them.

there is no such thing as a Bosch 1 2 4 etc. All the different generations are listed by EV-something. Go to their website and see if think I am pulling someone's leg.

Bosch 3 injectors in my 85, note you need 2 o rings at the bottom of the injector, the Bosch injectors are slightly shorter.
Where the standard injector body would hit the inlet manifold, the bosch 3 injectors can get pushed down into the inlet manifold resulting in a leak at the fuel rail / injector if you do not use 2x o rings at the bottom. FIC supplies the Bosch 3 injectors with the extra O ring, for that purpose.
Have been using the bosch 3 injectors for many years, not a problem as long as you use an extra O ring.

Thanks guys, yeah going with FIC and Solomon mail order tune, i'm in australia so most holden/custom shops have no idea about these as it is, lt1 never came in an aussie holden car. Found these:
https://fuelinjectorconnection.com/c...l-injector-set
So lastly, i feel like i have it put together right. The obvious thing here is a cam change needs a tune (93 stock to 218/224 113lsa .57/.56 lift).
Does the fact that it's untuned explain why it runs perfect in neutral with revs (i.e. barely any engine load), but in drive bogs out backfires and dies completely? I would think it would run bad in both situations. i don't want to overlook something.
I know this is extremely basic but i'm trying to figure out why, i.e. with engine loads comes drop in intake vacuum, computer just can't compensate?

My 94 a MAF car, ran nearly perfect with the stock tune and more cam than you are running. Pretty sure your 93 is a speed density car and may need a tune to run correctly?

Yup it's a speed density / MAP system. That's interesting, i guess MAP is less tolerant of cam changes than MAF?

i using ford 19lbs out of a 1997 truck, which i didnt pay a dime for. with two o rings on the bottom with no pintle cap. been about 2000 miles havent had an issue. my car has similar mods to yours. im also using the holley tpi fuel pressure regulator with an aeromotive 340 pump. i too was worried about the clips but with the double o ring it fits nice and snug
