Boggedust

Hi all,

Just purchased an 87 vette with a 4+3. The car will stall while in gear and not moving. Checked the clutch fluid and there was a hole in the cap and same was replaced but still having issues. Starting the car in reverse almost causes immediate stall. While in reverse it will jump back quickly then stall if not put into a different gear first.

The clutch pedal needs to be tapped slightly to gain pressure or otherwise it's very soft. Cant find the solution anywhere.

From your description of the symptoms, it sounds to me like the clutch master cylinder is going bad. I don't usually throw parts at
problems but if it were my car i would replace the master & the slave cylinders.
