First check if its getting power, if its not , possible blown fuse or bad wire, if it is possible bad motor..WW

WW7 has an '89, so he may not be familiar with the '87 headlight operation, since the '87 is a totally different design. The most likely problem in the '84 - '87 is a dirty limit switch, which is inside the motor. This can be fixed with NO NEW PARTS. Here's a link for repairing the '84 - '87 headlight motor. This procedure focuses on the gears, which probably isn't your problem, but does show the limit switches. Lubricate the motor bearings with a light weight white grease, like LubriPlate, or CRC StaLube, so the motor armature can shift in its bearings to actuate the limit switches
