It’s definitely oil, we’ve cleaned it daily but are unable to track where it’s actually leaking from. Every day there is new oil on the garage floor, it is 2 areas on the floor about 2-3 inches apart

I would say clean it stat it and watch it, it is coming from somewhere. I just changed my intake gaskets last week because of a coolant leak, but I am trying to figure where oil could come from.
Weird.
Anyways in the middle are EGR passageways but it should be fumes passing not enough pressure to push oil thru. Not sure.

Maybe a little back ground on the car, it was garage stored & hadn’t been driven for 2 years in Indiana, I flew up there from Florida last weekend to buy it & drive it down to Florida. I did get the oil changed & had it checked over prior to the long drive & I had the oil changed again after the 1300 mile trip. The car has 44,000 miles on it.

Did you use sealant on the intake manifold bolts? It looks to me like the oil is from the bolt. You need to reseal that bolt. Pull it out add some sealant and you should have that fixed.

The oil is most likely coming up the manifold bolt threads and pooling , this happens because the bolt didn't have sealer put on before installing it..The manifold bolts go through the head into the oil gallery , if you don't put sealer on the threads the internal pressure pushes oil up the bolt threads... You could try pulling the manifold bolt out and putting sealer on it, then retorque it to spec...WW

permatex aviation form a gasket is what i use.
i typically dip the bottom third of the manifold bolts and let them sit for an hour before install but ive had the same succes just dipping and installing. the stuff is cheap and will last a lifetime.

The stick showed pretty much the same during the trip & once I was home, maybe a slight difference but so minor it was basically the same level. Have checked oil everyday since getting it changed after the trip & again really no noticeable change in level

That amount of oil is annoying as heck but you won't see those 2 tablespoons of oil loss on the dipstick. I agree with the others, seal the bolts and report back with good news. Nice looking low mile '85 you found. Score!

Hello there,
Welcome to the crazy world of Corvettes! It is always good to have new blood buying these beautiful cars. Now starts the "Learning Phase" of your ownership. These 1984 up cars are a lot of fun and a great bang for the buck! I have a 1988 coupe and it is my second Corvette.
On an oil leak like yours at the very top of the engine makes me wonder if the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) valve has gone bad. When the PCV valve fails it frequently blocks the pressure that builds up inside the engine. If you get too much pressure it can actually force oil to leak in places that wouldn't otherwise. My Mother's Volvo PCV stopped working and while she was driving it blew out a seal and dumped all the oil causing the engine to seize.
Check your car to be sure that your engine has a clean path to blow out the pressure that builds up inside.
I wish you the very best with your "new" to you Corvette. I hope that you get many smiles per gallon!
