Lol....those suck when they go flying! Gotta keep a finger over 'em as you push 'em in.
Nice job, and nice looking new pistons!

Sometimes, when I remember, I'll drape a towel where the flying part is likely to go. Especially when clipping a good sized bolt in half. Otherwise, might have to redo some drywall.

….. Note all the holes drilled into the crankshaft's counterweights … it took the machinist a long time to balance the crank to the bobweight needed for my light pistons and titanium rods …..

….. Setting ring end gaps … PITA even with this fancy grinder … grind and check clearance 4-5 times per ring x 16 rings …..

..... Yessir ! … LS7 rods , massaged to work in the Gen 1 Dart block … the wrist pin bushings were honed from LS .925" to sbc .927" … length is 6.067" , so I used a 3.875" stroke crank with pistons intended for a 4.00" stroke that have 1.000" compression height … the new pistons were custom ordered with a .990" CH because the block had been zero decked in a former configuration … new piston to deck is -.005" … this makes for a 421ci engine …..

what kind of power are those rods capable of handling?
On a side note, based on your profile pic - I can only assume you're used to a bit of power.
What are your thoughts on the tq/hp limits of the stock crank/rods in a gen 1 sbc from an 88'?

That's pretty damn impressive.

….. Thanks ! ... Per the Wallace Racing ET/Weight/MPH calculators , my junk was making around 600hp … THIS version will go on the engine dyno for more accurate readings … according to Katech , the LS7 rods have lived through 700+ hp … stock bottom end in a 350 should support 500 depending on how its set-up and used … but it would be on the edge ! …..

lol.. I know! OMZ!
Anything that goes under my bench is GONE.. I dunno what dark force disappears things there, but it's hopeless. Like a bag of holding. I think my record for a snap ring is out the door and somewhere in the middle of the parking lot! lol.
Nice pistons. I have been looking at stroker parts.
I know you're a racer, but do you know how well stroker pistons hold up on the street with that gap in the oil ring land? Special rings there? Anything you have to do out of the ordinary?

How does that old expression go - "There's no replacement for displacement".
Very nice looking bottom end !!! Smart to use a Dart Block. OEM blocks are just fine for 99+% of the cars out there - but the factory has just cut too much metal out of the blocks to save weight. For serious power - the aftermarket blocks are worth it !!!
Please post dyno curves when you get them,
