1996 c4 best cooling fan options??
I have a 1996 c4 corvette with the lt1 and I am looking into replacing the fan. There are so many to chose from but which would give me the best results with easy installation??

They do say the accumulator can has to be relocated. Not sure exactly what they mean. Relocate how much and to where. That said, his radiator seemed to fit with the minimum of fuss and no more trouble than what he said so there's that.

Are you're current fans not working? I know 1 of them doesn't run until you hit a certain temp, I don't recall if the other one is always on. I know in the past some people didn't realize that and thought it wasn't working.

"The PCM will command the low speed fans (plural) ON at 108C (226F) and OFF at 105C (221F) and, high speed fans (plural) at 113C (235F) and OFF at 110C (230F)
So it would seem that each of the two fans has a dual speed motor.
Note for those of you that have a FSM I found that Chart C-12 contains the electric cooling fan control circuit diagnosis. This is on the last page of section C12

My thoughts exactly... the OEM fans are very robust and will work for a very long time in normal usage. But even the best parts do fail occasionally. Curious to know the reason for replacement.

You know that's interesting and it's probably different for different years of C4. I always thought that the 1st fan came on at a certain temp and then the 2nd one would come on so I went searching in my 1995 FSM for the diagnostic chart in the electronics supplement and I found this on page 6E3-C12-10 under diagnostic aids: (bolding is mine)
"The PCM will command the low speed fans (plural) ON at 108C (226F) and OFF at 105C (221F) and, high speed fans (plural) at 113C (235F) and OFF at 110C (230F)

Just wanted to add that the fans usually run in the low speed mode. Due to the relay configuration the fans are put into a series configuration. This means the full voltage (about 14 volts) is divided across both fans equally. In order to divide the voltage equal, the resistance of the fans have to be equal. If the resistance of one fan is very different than the other (due to a replacement), one fan will run fast and the other will run slower depending on which fan has the higher or lower resistance. So on the 95 or 96 car I agree to stay with OEM for these reasons.
In high speed the fans are in parallel (full voltage and equal) but who wants their engine at 235*.
