Default 1989 Coupe hot interior

I just had the heater core replaced. Before that I had a professional shop go over my AC and had it working fine.
My car has the electronic heat/ac system so I control everything with the push of a button. After heater core replaced cabin is very hot. When I switch to ECON (vent) I get hot air blowing. When I switch to ac I now get hot air blowing. Is it possible the mechanic who changed out the heater core didn't get something right with blend door arm? I basically have heat all the time and in Ohio with the temps in the high 80's Ireally hate taking the car anywhere. Any thoughts? I did text the mechanic he came highly recommended and I'm waiting for a reply but he's not big on texting so I'm expecting a one or two word reply..basically I'm thinking I'll have to solve this. I do have FSM..

Hello Wardie,
The electronic A/C system, controller is called a "C68". The expert on these systems is a guy named Bryan at BATEE.com. He rebuilt my digital dashboard and solved my C68 issues that I was having. Call and speak with Bryan, he is "The Man" when it comes to Dashboard or C68 issues. It sounds like your blending door is stuck letting the hot air in. It is located under the dashboard and is not easy for some people to bend that way. I wish you the very best in keeping the Hot air "outside" where it belongs!

P.S. IF you need to drive the car you might be able to block the flow of Hot water to the heater box.

Under the RH side of the dash is the Blend Door controller. It consists of a motor with a shaft that moves the blend door. There is a little plastic piece that connects the motor shaft to the Blend Door rod. When that plastic piece breaks the blend door seems to fall into the "heat" position.

I wonder if your A/C guy forgot to reattach the Blend Door control.

The other end of the rod attaches to the door? What if the guy who replaced my heater core failed to put that back or it isn't connected to the blend door? How would someone reconnect the rod to the door?

If you remove the blower control switch, located under the hood/passenger side on top of the evap. case, you can see the clip when you look in the hole.
