Default Exhaust Leak at Air Injection Fitting

My 95 LTI has long tube headers that use the stock air injection plumbing. Although both of the tube nuts are tight in the header bungs, I still have a slight leak between the nuts and the tubes at the header. I assume it is more of an air leak into the exhaust, due to the scavenging of the exhaust flow, but I'm curious if there is a way to seal this area up, like a high temp gasket sealer (Ultra-Black, etc). I get a bit of popping during shifts and I wonder if this might be extra air getting pulled into the exhaust and causing so combustion in the exhaust. Anyone have any similar issues or any comments, suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help! Sorry, I don't have any better pictures right now.

Regards,
John

No silicone is going to hold up to those temps. You would need something like a re-purposed EGR or exhaust gasket. Take a measurement and see if your local autoparts store will let you look through their exhaust gaskets.

You'd have a better chance with Ultra Copper than Ultra Black. Some people use this in place of exhaust gaskets.

Take off fitting. Clean real well and retorque it to specs. Shouldnt need RTV of any kind there..
