Changing Fuel Injectors on 1986 Corvette
I usually can handle most problems with my Vet. However, I have a 1986 Corvette, 350, fuel injection, Z51, that I have ordered two sets of injectors on so far. Both sets have appeared to be too short. Meaning the top and bottom o rings aren't the same length as the old ones, i.e. 2 3/4 inch. I assume the o rings seat up with the copper seat in the fuel rail and intake. Most of the newer ones are approximately 2 1/4 inch. Has anyone ran into this length problem before? I assume this can be dangerous with gas being sprayed all over when the engine is running. Some say they have used Accel injectors and they work. Whatever work means.....correct length or other. Any comments or assistance would be appreciated. Thanks. P.S. I'm not grinding off the fuel rail or intake to bring them closer together.

where did u get the injectors?
you should be getting the bosch 3's from john bannerman at fuel injector connection.
i just did my 86. it runs sssoooooo much better with them. i also did a full top end reseal and clean while i was in there.

Correct doesn't just mean physically fit ONLY. Size matters too. If the injector is too big, it could be a mess.
