I started with a no crank/no start issue. I made my own ground directly after the starter enable relay and it starts but cuts off after exactly 3 seconds. The SYS light comes on before it cuts out. I know the ccm provides ground for the crank so a bad ccm is definitly possible. Has anyone else seen a problem like this?

You could be on the right track. If the CCM does not see the key correctly, it will not send the signal to the PCM to turn on the injectors.

You might try another key and/or clean the one you have. With a Q-tip clean with alcohol the contacts inside the key cylinder.

And you might have to get under the steering column and disconnect the connector (orange and black wires) for the key and measure it.

Also check all the fuses for the CCM. A open fuse might cause similar problems.
