Well, I think I found my problem. I tested continuity between the harness ground and power wire. It zero’d out when I hit both of these terminals. I'll check again when I get home and play with this some more.

I have an extra sender that I'm going to redo from scratch. Can you guys take a look at the orientation of the yellow part outside the tank and the inside the tank part? Do I have this clocked wrong?

I don't see a pic. But I do have the sender out of my 93 in a parts box. Let me know if you want me to post a pic.

Let's try this again off my desktop... I re-read some info from racetronix outlining the installation. One of the first things they talked about was improving the ground by attaching the ground to the 3/8" tube in tank using a gear clamp with a 1/4" connector. I didn't do that and I can't find the clamp now.

here's what they said:

There were two ground / black wires coming out of the original pump connector. The short one with the 0.25" female terminal was supposed to attach to the supplied grounding clamp which in turn mounts on the hanger tube. This serves as a redundant ground.

The two factory bonded ground wires are no normally re-used because the quality of this ground varies greatly with the condition of the hanger. The same goes for the 0.25" female ground terminal and clamp on the atmosphere side of the harness.

Hopefully once i get this corrected, I'll have more stable power!

..... I fixed my fuel pump wiring issues with a nylon toilet seat screw and a couple of flat washers and some brown fuel O-rings … drilled holes in the screw for the wires to pass through (just large enough for the 12ga wire) … fixed ! …
cost me all of $1.98 …..

as an update, I cleaned up the wiring and used the proper weather pack connectors. I also made sure that there was good connection on the redundant ground intank to out of tank. I drove the car a few times today and it's working properly again.
