Do the Vertical Gas Ports really help these motors seal their piston rings better? Is there a limit to ho much compression they can handle? I had never seen them before, I must be out of touch or just getting old....

Thanks again!
How much gas ports help the ring seal really depend on the ring package used. In this case (.043" top ring) yes they do help the top ring seal better. +10-15HP in some extreme cases.

There is no limit to the compression they can handle.

We use them in as many applications as we can get the customer to pay for the expense honestly... ring seal is HP. Sometimes we use vertical like you see here and sometimes lateral. Vertical gas ports are more efficient but typically used in short duration engines like drag racing and endurance engines typically use lateral gas ports. This "application dependent" use is due to carbon build up on the piston top which can block the vertical gas ports, however with this one being set up for E85 fuel, I felt it would be fine with vertical ports on the street.

Stock Motor mount "towers" and stock rack and pinion mounts cut off Kmember... Pinto rack mounts welded on and new steering shaft made to connect. Half @ss paint job in the cold....

Looks great! The front clip looks like a race car with the engine plate and Pinto rack-Very cool!

Can't wait for the track results.

Can't believe I missed this thread and Jesus the intake ports and valves in those heads! A legit nitrous motor, I love it. I wish I was your neighbor, Will...

Didn't wanna deal with the headache of pulling all the EFI stuff from car to make a few pulls on engine dyno. We will be at the drag strip shortly and let the time slip do the talking. 9s NA should do the trick!
