Oil Cooler

Oil Cooler
Hello I purchased a non running 1985 Corvette with the 4 plus three manual transmission. I have the motor out of the car. I am getting ready to put the motor in. It has a stock oil cooler. I was thinking of running the lines to an oil cooler radiator on the radiator. I think it will work better than the stock system. Any opinions.
Does any body know what rubber tubing I need so that the oil and temperature will not ruin the rubber tubing.
Thank you

Unless you're going to track the car, you don't need the oil cooler. I have an '87 with it and a '90 without it. They run the same oil temp during normal or even spirited driving. If you really must, then you would need a cooler kit with an adapter. It would come with appropriate hose.

The adapter is already on the motor. I thought it was stock. It is between the oil filter and the block. In my 84 the oil got up to 240 F. My 1989 with the aftermarket the oil has never got above 210. I just like keeping the oil temperature under control. In Guam, where I presently live. I worry about the car running hot. Thank you for the help.

This has two lines on the collar that is between the oil filter and the engine. One of the lines went into the engine block. The other went to the radiator. So from what you are telling me that collar holds coolant and not motor oil like the aftermarket cooler I installed on my 84. Does it do anything useful? I could just remove it and install an aftermarket oil cooler.
Thank you
I bought this car not running. I took the engine out. When I was cleaning it I blew air into the water jackets and a dead roach over two inches long came out.

I found a picture of the oil cooler RPO KC4 and part number 14084014 on ebay. But, I do not have a picture in the FSM on how it connects. Does anyone have a diagram of it on the motor. Thank you
