Default President of NAPA called me.......

After I was stonewalled by the NAPA store in Durango, CO about a warranty parts/labor claim on yet another failed brake booster and was told to tell my sad story to someone at NAPA HQ in Atlanta that might care , so I called . much to my surprise, the President of NAPA Chassis and Brake parts called me back and we talked about the many booster failures on the CE. the results of the conversation : (1) that many failures in BAD. (2) I will be made whole and get all of my money back , (3) he ( the President) would call Cordone (the rebuilder) and INSTRUCT them to fix my car and see to it that it STAYS fixed (4) the Durango stores total lack of interest and support is unacceptable and not in accordance with NAPA policy. ALL of this sounds good, just SHOW ME a fixed car and a fat check in my pocket. also, I am quite sure that a large dose of nuclear fallout will land on the Durango store mgr's head as I did drive the bus over him as hard as I could.....

Weren't they the ones putting cup seals in backwards in master cylinders and they would start bleeding off pressure after short periods of time or am I thinking of someone else...

Cardone cutting corners and not reinforcing a few spots on the booster. I now have a steel one and my car is done.

I did a steel booster last week, it worked for 12 miles. as I told The President, I am not a shade tree mechanic, I pay pros to do the work. 2 shops 1500 miles apart do the same exact same job: failure in 1800 and 12 miles.

I saw your other thread. Are these failed boosters "remanufactured" unitsfrom "A1 Cardone?"

Try another supplier.

Cordone seems to have cornered the market with the auto parts chain stores. an indy rebuilder might be an option . but there aren't any in town since Katrina

Have you talked to Power Brake Service?

Roy, I have yet to talk to Power Brake Service . I now have 2 failed boosters that I need to recover funds on. IF the President of NAPA does not in fact have the power to refund my $ and see to it that my car is fixed, Power Brake Service WILL be my first option . after spending $3k on this booster problem I'm not in any hurry to pour more $ down the rat hole.

Well, the idiot did give you the keys. I've had good results with regional managers for these kinds of problems. And cardone(car done) is absolute crap. Best of luck.

There is no substitute for good leadership. Good for the President of NAPA.

Your comment about the Indy rebuilder shook me up! I was hoping you weren't about to jump down another rat hole! Time will tell how well Cardone recovers from this fiasco. Please be sure to keep us informed.
