Default Booster saga : GOOD NEWS

After the 4th booster (steel 84) failed in 12 miles I just about went off the rails. got the President of NAPA involved who said he would see to it that my car was fixed, and STAYED fixed. So.... the national sales mgr. for A1 Cordone called me twice. the sales mgr had no idea (no surprise) about the c4 booster problem but that he would" look into it" and call me back . well , it turns out that the failure rate for the plastic booster so high (how high was it ?) that Cordone was forced to REDESIGN and UPDATE the c4 boosters in metal. The plastic POS will NO LONGER BE SOLD ! ! !. the technical services manager for Cordone is sending a triple checked NEW DESIGN metal booster to "my" shop at no charge for repair. I sure hope it works otherwise I will be going postal! What all of this means for forum members is that if they need a booster, do NOT, NOT, NOT ACCEPT a plastic booster over the counter of any national parts store. I will follow up with a progress report and part number for the new style , redesigned booser.

the " NEW REDESIGN" METAL booster will fit all years C4, at least that is my understanding . I will reconfirm this with the powers that be @ A1 CORDONE next week and report back
