Default yellow optispark?

So I was poking around and noticed that it appears my optispark is yellow. Accel as far as I can tell does not have a yellow base but only the cover is yellow in some.. anyone know what I have here?

My guess oil film and old off white. As car is running would not worry about it. IMO Accel Yellow should be a brighter shade of yellow.

Its clearly yellow. Its not for sure faded white.. that my opinion anyway with eyes on it. Im not worried about it as you say, Im just curious, I like to know what I have. Im eventually planning to do a cam so if its not original Id be looking to replace it. As I understand it, the original in 96 was the best there was.. so Id be let down if it was replaced which it looks like it was. I do know the pump was done.. but the guy I bought from only mentioned the pump. 75k on it.

Looks like the one I removed from my '96. It is original.

My 96 opti is yellow too. Mine has 37k and believed to be all original but the opti was the one thing I was wondering about. Good info!

yeah hang on to that sucker.. we have the best (of the worst).

Also; watch your water pump for seepage... Even though we have the vacuum hose seepage would be a problem if your car is dormant.
