C4 LSx swap A/C compressors, What fits?
I have completed my CA legal LS3 swap on my '90 ZF6 coupe (Details here) and want to start installing A/C (C68 Auto climate control). I did a search and can't exactly confirm what compressors fit C4 LSx swaps. I'm thinking Holley's 20-141 kit with Sanden SD508 compressor and the 21-1 spacer (corvette accessory drive offset). I have seen this style of compressor and R4's in C4 LSx engine bay pics on google but the links don't have specific details on the A/C system.
I'm concerned about the following Details:
Can anyone confirm what High mount, Corvette accessory drive offset, A/C compressor and mounting system fits in C4 LSx engine bays?
Holley A/C kit 20-141:
I'm concerned about the following Details:
- Hood clearance for the compressor against the the main support structure for the hood skin
- Wheel well clearance
- Top ports / hose clearance and routing against the hood, etc. Can the SD508 compressor head be swapped to a rear port head for alternate hose routing?
- How to interface with C68 (1990) A/C controller without the stock ECM? (Arduino, latching toggle relay?)
- Who makes custom A/C hoses?
Can anyone confirm what High mount, Corvette accessory drive offset, A/C compressor and mounting system fits in C4 LSx engine bays?

Curious on what your using for engine motor mounts? I used aftermarket engine motor plates and the stock SBC engine motor mounts. I used the tried that high mount bracket and my R4 AC unit rubbed on the hood. You could always trim out the hood. You might have better luck as your using a smaller AC compressor. Curious on why your not putting the AC unit in the stock low mount position? The later C4 are suppose to not have that lower brace for the motor mount. Keep us posted on what you find out.

I'm taking a chance with the Holley SD508 kit, I received it yesterday and probably will be a few weeks till I get to play with it and see if things fits.

I'm gonna put my AC compressor down below, its just one brace in the way. I can plasma torch it out of my way and make a better brace than GM did. I'm saving the top space on the passenger side for a procharger.
On a hoist the down below AC position isn't to bad to get at, not sure on your findings. I bet I could get the AC compressor out in less than an hour. My current set-up I can get my water pump off less than 10 minutes.
I run a truck stock LQ9 engine, with a tuned by myself and run cats naked. Headers and true 3in dual home made exhaust.
