C4 pre fabricated roll cage?
Has anyone purchased and installed a pre fabricated roll cage for road racing (SCCA, NASA, ChampCar, World Racing League, AER)?
I know they exist saw Jegs selling one. Would very much like to see one since pre fab will save a lot of $ but saving $ no good if the fit is bad

The prefab cages that I have seen are usually for drag racing. There was a company selling a cage that was complete (Autopower?). IMHO, it sucked. Mainly because they are bending the front down bars with the assumption you are keeping the dash. This severely hinders your ingress/egress out of the car. You will be much better just getting the pipes and doing it yourself if you have the cutting/bending/welding tools. If not, there are plenty of shops in your area who can do a cage.

Presently there is a Rhodes cage offered by Summit Racing designed for road racing. Summit part # RHC-0531-DOM. This is $600. Jegs also has a kit. A good cage fab will cost $2500 where I live. I have welding skills in my garage so considering saving money.

2,500 is about right. But I will say you will have a better cage. The door bars on the RHC cage leave a lot to be desired. I would much rather see you with NASCAR door bar to give you extra room.
I would ask for pictures to see what a finished RHC cage looks like.

Roll bars seem to be like exhaust systems, pre fabbed never seem to be right. Burn up the visa...

When i did my 88 it was a pallet of steel. Hoop width was correct thats about it....They are like exhaust systems for sure...But allowed me to fit it better to the car. Also was able to keep the targa top storage useable. Just my .02
