TPMS for C5 wheels on 1989
So I sprung for a set of stock/painted C5 rims for my 1989 and am debating whether to bother with the TPMS system. I was told the 89 system is analogue versus the C5 system which is electronic?! If I wanted to enable to system and make it work with my new C5 wheels what parts would I need to purchase? If I were to scrap the TPMS system, what fuse or relay would I need to remove or disable to keep the system from noticing that it was not functional in order to keep the dash light from staying on? My preference is to keep the system functional, but all indications are that it may prove more expensive than I can afford to do so...Thank you in advance!

The C5 had two versions of TPMS and neither of them will work with a C4.
If you want to keep your '89 system working, you need to mount the early (I think they changed in '92 or '93?) C4 pressure sensors to you new wheels. The stock C4 sensors attach by a big band clamp around the centerline of the wheel. They will not fit an 18" C5 rear. I am not sure if they will fit the center shape of a C5 front wheel or not.
Good luck.
