Default Swapping to a one piece rear main?

Just like the title says.

I have an 84, with the typical split main seal, my plan is to drop an 1997 block into the car with a one piece. The car is a Doug Nash 4+3, so I know I will need the flywheel and clutch from one of the newer cars (86 to 88 if I'm correct) but...are there any other surprises that I need to be on the lookout for??

Thanks for reading.

When you say you are using a 97 block, I'm assuming you are talking a LS engine then. What are you planning to do for bell housing, motor mounts, electronics etc?
If you meant a 96, are you putting in a LT block. Again what are you planning to do for intake, electronics etc?

97 could be L31 or vortec 350 truck block.

new oil pan; get a corvette specific pan, they are 7 inch depth; no other oem pans are that shallow; oil pump and pickup to match.

Ah! Thanks for the heads up. The engine has a Moroso deep sump pan meant for a 3rd Gen Camaro. I'll measure before I try to install..

Pretty sure Balancer and Timing Cover are different. You'll need the late model stuff.
