Default Disconnected vacuum line?

I think I disconnected this, around the ASR area on my 92. Is it a vacuum line? Where does it reconnect?

On my 92 that line runs behind the alternator, around the front of the valve cover and under the injector cover to the vacuum fitting just above the PCV valve. That looks like it has been repaired at some point.Mine is a rigid line all the way.

Found it under the alternator bracket... except I think there's still a chunk of it missing:

For now I've got it connected like this:

I'll try to find a new piece. What are the symptoms of this thing not having vacuum?
