Default Fitment of these Corbeau A4 seats from Corvette Mods.

Do these fit? I'm not a huge guy...5'11" and 180lbs, so I should fit in the seats. Does anybody have experience with this particular seat in a 1990 or newer C4? I have a 93.

I have the leather A4s in my 88, yes they fit, it was also a PITA to get them in there and I'm not taking them out ever again. I basically had to bolt the rears down, then beat on the seat to make it go all the way down to bolt the fronts. Its wider than the floor at the height it needs to be installed. There are pictures in one of my albums.

The brackets underneath the seat need to be removed and flipped to the other side. Drivers' side needs to go on Passenger seat, that is. The nuts that hold the front down on the floor next to the transmission were pretty much impossible to get on.

Oh and never buy from CorvetteMods, they have had numerous issues. Find them somewhere else.

Yeah i looked into these. Other than the slots for a 5 point, pretty much no benefit over a stock seat.

weighs just as much (you can convert your stock power seats to manual sliders if you want to save a few lbs).

I also looked into some real light race seats of a different model (to save weight),
but then i thought :

whats stopping me from simply removing the passenger seat (for racing) to save 30 lbs and not lighten my wallet?

I have the 93, and if you are skinny (as it sounds you are), the 84-93 sport seat is a pretty good seat

Fairly easy install. Provides me (6'-3") with additional head room. I think they were a great upgrade.

I had these seats, though in a different car. They are a case of you get what you pay for. They hold you nice, and are reasonably comfy, though not as comfy as stock C4 sport seats. After about 3 years of sun, they started to fade(I had them in black). One of the back support bars broke, which Corbeau took car of hassle free, despite them being over 5 years old at the time. Also, the position ratcheting mechanism broke as well, but that was after I sold the car with them in it, to my father. Was an easy and cheap fix, but still a lame failure. They are decent for the money, but not great. They are not a true racing seat, they are far too flimsy to be proper racing seats. I would not want to wreck on a track with them. Consider them a racing "style" seat.

Summary : I don't consider them junk by any means, as there are far worse seats out there. They are however, far from premium. Corbeau is a nice company to deal with though, they will take of you if you have issues. I now see why people drop the big $$$$ on Recaro. If you want a decent seat, but don't want to spend Recaro money, take a look at Bride. I don't know if they have anything that will fit a C4, but they are impressive seats for the money. They also are meant for skinny dudes. Careful, there are "replicas" made in Taiwan, and then the real deal, made in Japan. Or, look for some 90's era C4 sport seats. I'm very skinny, and the ones in my '96 hold me just fine.
