Crutchfield would also be the folks I suggest you speak with. They have helped me with my 1988 C4 and its stereo and several other cars over the years. The support/installation materials they provide when you buy the parts are great. I like their support staff as well, they KNOW their stereo's and how to get the best sound.
I now have a good stereo that has sound bouncing all over the place in my Coupe. At least I can answer the phone hands free when I am driving.

Kinda sorta. It became a joint project to get the radio I bought from them integrated with the Bose speakers. I did a lot of Googling and reading to understand what was going on with
mine and then when we talked about what I found out, they were able to recommend product(s).
They also didn't know how to put a switch in for the antenna. I also found that on the web.
I have found that pretty much everything has been dealt with before, the trick is finding it.

drcook,
I like the features of the Sony you picked. My question is, why did you stay with the Bose speakers? It’s hard to tell how good (or bad) my Bose speakers are, since the head unit isn’t the greatest. I have a Bluetooth adapter that lets me play music through my phone, but the sound quality is not too good. How difficult is it to change out all the speakers for modern technology? Any thoughts are appreciated!

Money. The majority of the flexible income I have for the car is going towards performance parts. I had a little extra or I wouldn't have put a new radio in. The one that was in it, (Bose) functioned perfectly, as does the speakers.
Mine turned out sounding just as good as the speakers in my wife's 2018 Equinox.

There are other's here that can answer that, and a bunch of historical threads that you can search out and read.
The back up cameras are ok but not the greatest. So if you get those that have dynamic tracking where the lane turns with the turn of the wheel, IMO, it isn't the greatest. If it plays DVD, you might want to look into a brake bypass so your passenger can watch TV whenever (turn it off when the cop is behind you). I installed one for my truck to help me get aligned for the trailer but that is about all I like it for. Normal reversing isn't my favorite thing. I just feel the dimensions are a little distorted.
