Hey guys! I'm currently in the market for some aftermarket wheels for my 1992 LT1 C4 Coupe, but I was wondering what fitment I would need to get them flush if I bought them the same size as stock wheels (17" x 9.5"). Think you guys could help me out?
When you say "flush," I assume you mean you want to put them out even with the outside fender edges. On any 88-96 Corvette, that means you need 4" of "frontspacing," which is the amount of rim width that extends out from the hub mounting surface. It's the opposite of backspacing. With a 9.5" wheel, 32mm offset will get you that flush fit with a 275-width tire. Be aware that this will place added loads on the wheel bearings and increase scrub radius, about the same amount as the 84-87 Corvettes had. I don't know how much this really impacts bearing life. It will add a bit of tramlining and other steering forces. It won't be anything terminal, but it will be different than the "zero scrub" later C4 geometry.
I believe the only way for the OP to calculate offset required for his desired placement is the 'trusted' string drop and a trusted measuring device! Only way!
He's the 'only guy' that knows where he'd like it and knows what he means by 'FLUSH'! I ain't going to guess/speculate the OP's desires.

I appreciate the insight man! And you were correct in my assumption on flush, outside of wheels even with the outside of the fenders. In my opinion it look sleek af.

I appreciate the concern man, and dont worry, I would never do that without a double check lol. I was just looking for some extra insight.
