Working on that swap now. It takes a fair amount of work but it's much cheaper than a Miniram. I bought my intake on Ebay. I thought John@lt1intake.com had converted but it was a Bubba-rigged job instead. I believe the two intakes in the For Sale forum are both John's work and I wouldn't shy away from either one.
how can you jimmy rig a hole for the distributor? it's either drilled right or it isn't? the fuel rails have to be custom but nice AN fittings were used. i haven't seen or used any of the products but i don't see how you could really screw one up unless you drilled the hole wrong.
That doesn't make sense-->"how can you jimmy rig a hole for the distributor? it's either drilled right or it isn't?"
It's extremely easy to mess things up when you have the wrong tools and don't know what you're doing.
The hack that converted my manifold drilled the rear coolant crossovers too close to the edge of the manifold. All of the NPT threads are lose from over tightening. This manifold was modified with a grinder, not a mill. It looks nasty and sloppy. The intake mounting holes are all egg shaped and much larger than they need to be. There is an excessive amount of JB Weld in several areas. The hole for the distributor appears to be the only clean operation performed. I haven't verified if it was located properly.
Once again, John at LT1intake.com does very good work and I'd buy one if it came out of there. If it didn't I'd ask to see detailed pics or I wouldn't pay much for it.
