Default PCV and valve covers

I need to figure out which rubber parts are needed for the drivers side valve cover on an 85'. I have some rubber parts but I dont think they are correct or my valve covers come off the wrong year car. I have a few sets. The rubber replacement part that I have is sloped and the one in the valve cover is flat top. Also the pipe is metal and my replacement is rubber.

That rubber grommet is for an LT1 valve cover.

The tapered grommet matches the one on the right valve cover for early valve covers (no center bolts). Also all of my early covers have a black corvette emblem. All of the covers I have seen online have different emblems like shown below.

Default piping

So I looked at some engine pictures on the net of early L98 engines and it looks like the valve cover venting goes to the intake but I dont see any ports.
I do have some piping I pulled off some cars over the years and I believe they came off a 85 (below) or 86. Maybe some of you can recognize which side of the engine these pipes go. I assume they are pcv venting piping.

The 84 used the smaller black emblem for the driver side valve cover. Not sure if the 85 does as well... it was a little more difficult to source than the run of the mill emblem but I found a NOS one...

I checked the FSM and it was no help. Here's some pics of my 85. I think some of the piping you have is what you need. Here they are.

Passenger side. I'm not sure exactly where it connects under the Throttle plate or if it goes to the AIR pump system.

This one is of the driver's side looking toward the cowl.

Driver's side. The PVC hose connects to a "T" and goes left to the evaporator canister and right to somewhere under the plenum.

HTH,

Joe K

In the first pic of the passenger side is that a metal pipe between two rubber elbows?

In the picture with the three pipes (red in the middle) the outer two are used on my 86. the long one on the left is from the v/c to the throttle body. The shorter one on the right is on the drivers side. The hose on top goes to a big port on the intake, the broken hose goes to the pcv valve and the nipple on the bottom goes to the purge canister.

Default piping

Looks like the red one is from an 85. Matched up to the intake AND has provisions for the harness cover. The other 2 I believe I removed from an 86 and verified from dieselgeek. Now I need to look for 1985 passenger side piping harness cover. I do have 86 harness covers but they are different, more C shaped not flat like the 85.
I think the studs that are coming out of my 86 manifold shown in the picture are for the 86 piping.

Thanks for the great pics guys. I think i have all the parts sorted out. The plug wire retainers i got from an 84 in the yard for $4. Saw a set on ebay for. $124. Same with the valve covers, bought 2 sets in the yard for $10 pr pair. Rough but i blasted them and put spruce nickel on one pair and wrinkle on the other set. Good enough for a driver and beats the $299 i saw for a set. Ebay valve cover prices are unreal.

Valve covers look great. I need to do my valve covers as you can see. I have the paint and a new emblem, just need some time...and motivation!
