Default Corbeau A4s?

Just ordered a pair with the C4 seat frames. Does anyone have experience with these in an early C4? Wondering how much of a pain install will be.
Also looking for a harness bar and 5 or 6 pt harness.

Tho I still haven't pulled the trigger on getting them for mine, for decades they have been the popular go to swap in seats on C4s for 4 or 5point belts.

Very painful, I have them.

You will have to swap the underneath parts from drivers to passenger side on the install, the documentation does not state it, or didn't when I bought mine. But others on the forum will say the same thing.

You will have a difficult time getting all 4 nuts on the floor studs, especially the front-inner bolt, which you can barely get on once its down and in place.

I put them in my '96 (not "early" C4, by any means), but I don't think the seats attach differently between the latest C4's and the older ones. I mounted mine on the stock power seat bases.
If you are limber at all, it's not a difficult job.

I've had them for a few years. The front bolts take patience, and you'll want to install them reversed (pass on driver ect). I'm very happy with the seating position and bolstering. Just don't get red, it fades very quickly.

Instructions are terrible. By switch sides is each seat staying with its corresponding frame and just putting the drivers in the pass side and Vice versa?
also can’t figure out how to mount the damn frame to the bottom of seat. Instructions say to slide the bracket fwd put the 2 bolts in the top hole and then slide bracket to rear but one of the bolt holes on the rear is covered By the seat bracket itself.

Bracket slid to rear to install rear bolts but on the left there’s no way to get the bolt in. Wtf 🤷‍♂️

Welcome to the pain of the install. Mine was 5 years ago and I've forgotten exactly what I flip flopped, but then I sent Corbeau a nastygram about their instructions and they acted like they had no idea it was hard to get them in.

what’s the deal with the last rear bolt and the bracket covering the bolt hole? This can’t be right.
I’ve got the drivers side on d/s bracket Vice versa for the pass seat but the p/s holes are a ways off from the factory studs.
is anyone capable of doing an install on anything without leaving critical instructions out?? There’s numerous a4 install videos and thread for Vettes but no one mentions these important issues. Huge wtf 🤷‍♂️
not to mention everything I’ve read says these are super comfortable-is this an inside joke? These are kinda hard and appear to be made of some cheap *** materials. Definitely not worth the $1100.

Just read through a bunch of forum threads on these seats and apparently you have to remove the bracket from the slider to get the other rear bolt in. Also the pass side bracket doesn’t even line up with the floor studs 🤷‍♂️

Yes that is why you flip the sides, otherwise nothing lines up right. I remember I had to slide the seat all the way forward and force the rear holes onto the studs, then all back to get the outer stud, and then impossible to get the front inner bolt on the stud with the seat attached. I wish I could be more help, I've simply forgotten. I've rarely cussed my car like I did that day.

And yes they are firm seats, firmer and less comfortable on the bottom than the factory foam. The angle of the seat is rather flat and not as raked as my factory leather seats were, so its somewhat less supportive.

Wasted enough time on them this evening. I’ll have to finish tomorrow. Not even sure how the bracket separates from the rest of the slider.
The cloth material feels pretty cheap-if I would’ve seen these in person I wouldn’t have paid more than a couple hundred for them and def not the $1165 I paid for everything.

Update:alright so apparently to get the 4th bolt in you have to separate the bracket from the slider.

Also they must have made a change cause the sides DO NOT have to be switched. The outter front bolt to seat stud is still nearly impossible to get to. I got all 4 tightened on the pass side but the outer front on the d/s side I was only able to thread on a few times by hand-there’s no way to fit even a short wrench in.

I appreciate the feedback on the quality of the seats. The seat bottoms look way flat and firm.

I've been debating trying a Tillett B5 or a Cobra Nogaro but havent found any mounting solutions yet. Seems like the only "off the shelf" seat bracket is by Corbeau so Id likely start with that soup sandwich either way and thats not very appetizing LOL
