cold start turns on perfectly fine. Car driving runs perfectly fine. I go drive for about 30 minutes I stop at food store I turn car off. I go get couple food items come back to car try to start and it won’t start.
ok - when the engine is hot I get good cranking. I have new battery I replaced ignition module 2 years ago( I honestly don’t remember about the heat paste on ignition module) what do we thing this is bad ignition module or heat soaked starter ( but the starter is cranking fine).
after the car sits for 2 hours starts right up. This has happens now couple times.
also yes the injectors are firing when I try to start.

Better try another IM and maybe an ignition coil. Always a crap shoot with all the garbage china made products!
So I haven’t changed the ignition module yet havent had time.
I came home from work just now and it’s been 87 all day I tryed to start it and it kept cranking no start. So has me thinking it’s not starting because it’s been hot all day and ignition module is hot under hood?
keep in mind I’m in pa so the other day it was cool out 70s low 60s so this 87 degree day isn’t normal.
any thoughts? Before my issue was when I warmed the car up and tryed to start it. Today was no start after a full day in heat.
Do you have a spare spark plug or timing light? Check and test to see if you have spark while cranking first otherwise replacing the ICM won't fix much of anything.
Just a long shot that doesn't cost a thing but a trip to the back of the car
1 do you hear the fuel pump give a prime (yes 84s prime)
2 loosen the gas cap I had a Camaro that would get Vapor Locked

I experianced this exact issue. I found that I had a leaky injector. Shut the car off hot and the leaky injector floods the engine. Car cools down and injector psi drops and stops leaking.

This is good thought ^^^^^^! A question to the OP for clarity, you've mentioned troubles restarting when hot, but does it always run fine hot until YOU shut it off....or does it start to have drive ability issues when hot and die on it's own? Basically will it run fine hot all day long until you choose to turn it off!? I would still make sure your ignition control module has thermal transfer paste! What happens if you shut it off hot and immediately try a restart!? Keep posting, lots of smart guys on here, no idea is a bad one (unless it's just stupid 😎J/K)👍
Car started great when cold and ran good. Make a quick stop and it wouldnt start. Would have to leave it sit for 30mins before it would start. I purchased new injectors from an online injector shop. They were saying new injectors have a way better spray patteren then the 80s factory oems. My car ran way better after changing them. The driveability was alot smoother.
