On a stock car its a wast of money, for whatever my two-bit opinion is worth. It's an overly-expensive way of sucking more dirt into your engine. Probably change the sound of your car a little bit. Maybe a tad bit more mileage.
But I think the computer would likely correct it back to where it was anyway. Probably. I dunno.
I'm asssuming that you're stock rather than (relevantly) modified, but you didn't say.
But placing that aside, for that price, I'd rather buy two new front tires on a stock car.
I have had one on several cars ('94,'95,'96). The overall effect is slight. I did notice it helped some since when I took it off the car didn't perform quite as well. However, most people would not notice the difference.
It has a good appearance and it has filters that can be cleaned and re-oiled so they should last about forever.
I would not pay the $429.99 plus freight and tax that SLP is asking.
However, I have one for sale. It is the K&N version of it from before they sold the rights to SLP. The only difference is that it is gloss black instead of flat black, and it uses K&N filters instead of something else. See link to my Craigslist ad below.
I thought about buying one just because it was pretty cool looking. But I researched and found that they are practically useless...at least on the street. When I opened my air filter housing, I found out that the previous owner already had put in a K&N square filter. I have been told by several C4 owners that getting the replacement lid that is cut open in really the best way to go. It's a lot cheaper too. There's lots you can do with $400.
