A quick question about this. Can I just splice another wire to the stock engine oil temp sender in the block above the oil filter and run this to the correct terminal on my 727 ecm? Or do I need to use some different sender? I certainly don't want to lose the engine oil temp readout on my Driver Information Center. Thanks very much.
Re: Engine oil temp connection-converting from 165. (Bob86ZZ4)
get a 90 up sensor.. it has 3 iwres and will still give you the data for your current set-up
the current sensor has one wire for the 'gauge' and grounds on the threads.. the newe sensor has 3 wires.. the extra 2 go to gnd in the ECM and the temp input of the ECM

Man, you are the greatest, Jeff. You know I named my second born after you. Any time you come to Minnesota I will buy you a beverage. That is great information.

Does it matter which of the three wires goes where? I just picked up the '90 sender and the three wire GM plug for it. All three wires are the same so I don't know which ones go to which places.

Great. I looked very closely at the plug and it does show the A and B wires molded into the plastic so that takes care of it then. I think I can finish my conversion harness now.
