Default Heater Core leaking

I did a search and it seems that the concensus is that this is the worst thing to change on a C4, so any tips before I dig in. Also where do you recommend I get a new heater core from? My father used to work in a dealer a long time ago and he changed them on Corvettes all the time so thank god he is gonna help me :D

Recommendation: Plan to spend at least two days to get it done if you are not a mechanic! :jester

2 days is about right, and you are still young like me so you should be alright. I managed to do it with only a few scratches and cuts along the way. Just get used to being upside down alot, with your feet sticking out the top of the car, get lots of light, and take lots of breaks and you should be fine. Nothing in the process by itself is too terribly difficult it is just time consuming. Good Luck

Last night when I was driving out to a friends the core actually fully ruptured and got coolant all over the passenger side footwell, so I ended up taking it to a buddy of mine that has a garage and we bypassed the heater core for now, I am up at school and dont have anyway to change it this week, I took the carpet, mat and seat out of the passenger side so I could rinse the carpet and floor mat off.

I think stuff breaking on my car happens in waves, all within the last two weeks the alternator went, radio is not working and now this....oh well at least when its all done I'll know that new stuff is in there

Ryan,

Check that link again I left you. SCOOB has posted some pictures of the heater core repair along with an article you may or may not want to read.
