Popping off the black discs on the rear hatch glass?? HOW?
I want to repaint my four little discs that are on my rear hatch glass. I don't want to paint them on the car for fear of getting spray on the new paint.
Anyone have a clue to how they come off? :)

Open the rear hatch. From the "inside" of the hatch you'll see that a phillips head screw holds each of them in place.
To remove the ones that have the support strut attached, you'll need to pop the clip free that holds the strut in place. Next move the strut out of the way and remove the button. The glass is heavy, so make sure you're holding it when you free the strut.
Make note of the alignment of the pieces, especially the outer ones. The first time you remove them, the orientation may not be obvious upon reinstallation.
FWIW, new ones are ~$6 ea from Jeff Kopp.

They unscrew from the bottom. I had to take mine off to reseal them. I have an 86, it takes about 5 minutes.
